About the position:
As a Central Scheduler in the Radiology Department at Madison Health, you will be responsible for scheduling patient appointments based on orders received from patients, physicians and physician offices.
Ensure that patient information is collected and patients are aware of hospital policies and procedures.
This position will be scheduled Monday - Friday from 8am - 4:
30pm.
Key job qualities/duties:
Schedules patient appointments for outpatient procedures and clinic visits called in by patients, physicians and physician offices.
Coordinates appointment with registration and appropriate ancillary department.
Obtains patient demographic, insurance, diagnosis and procedure information from patient, physician or physician office.
Inputs patient information into calendar for view by registration and ancillary department performing procedure.
Provides patient with any pre-appointment instructions.
Provides any special instructions required for procedure and general information about the hospital, ancillary department, directions, arrival time, etc.
Obtains pre-certification requirements to assure payment from insurance company.
Follows hospital policy and procedure associated with each insurance contract in obtaining pre-certifications.
Contacts various insurance companies for required authorization.
Refers patients to Customer Service when financial arrangements need to be made.
What qualifications are we looking for? High school diploma or equivalent.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
