Customer Service Representative

Responsibilities:

The Customer Service Representative provides a solution based service to our valued customers. A successful individual will be able to multi-task in a fast paced environment with professionalism and efficiency. This position requires a highly motivated team player who is willing to go above and beyond while displaying a positive, optimistic and upbeat outlook.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Process customer requests by fax, telephone, mail, or email.
  • Provide product information and technical resources.
  • Perform order entry accurately with a sense of urgency.
  • Notify customer of backorder or potential delay in shipment.
  • Review orders and check for accuracy.
  • Liaison for the sales department, logistics department, and the customer.
  • Interface with co-workers and customers in reference to customer issues.
  • Ask for help and ask to help when necessary.
  • Research customer inquiries and respond to appropriate parties in a timely manner.
  • Answer phone in a professional manner.
  • Keep customers informed of order status.
  • Report problems to the Lead CSR.
  • Handle invoice releases daily.
  • Keep work area neat and organized.
  • Process credits and debits in a timely manner.
  • Perform tasks as assigned.

Job Skills:

This position should possess the following skills/knowledge:

  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Typing/10-key
  • PC/Computer
  • Data Entry

Educational Requirements:

  • High School Diploma

Preferred Experience:

  • 2+ years experience in Customer Service
  • Windows XP and Microsoft Office
  • Oracle

Physical Requirements:

  • The employee will be sitting for an extended period of time, so they must be able to sit for a continuous 8 hours
  • The employee will be typing, answering the phone, and using their hands in other ways throughout the day and must be have full use of their hands.
  • The employee will be wearing a headset while on the phone, so they must be able to wear a headset for 8 hours continuously

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
